Loving Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather

George N. Closs, Jr., 81

George N. Closs, Jr., 81, died November 6, 2017 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Lima, Pa. Born in Marcus Hook, Pa., he was the son of the late George N. Closs, Sr. and Marie Mary Closs, and stepmother Eleanor "Ducky" Closs.

George was predeceased by his wife, Frances K. Closs (Gallagher), who died in 1992.

George resided in Chester, Pa. for 52 years prior to moving to Parkside, Pa. where he lived for the past seven years.

George was employed as a bricklayer for many years and also worked as a sexton at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Chester, Pa. and as a custodian at Neumann University, Aston, Pa.

George was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, Aston, Pa., and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Cardinal Dougherty Assembly Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed trains, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and wife, George was also predeceased by his brother, Howard Closs, and friend, Alfreda Jordan.
George is survived by a son, George N. Closs, III (Dawn) of Brookhaven, Pa.; four daughters, Marjorie Kumiega (Leon), of Wilmington, De., Maria Davis (Brian) of Upland, Pa., Frances K. Closs and Karen Closs, with whom he lived in Parkside, Pa.; grandchildren, George N. Closs, IV (Deidre), Robert D. Closs (Jacqueline), Christina Closs (Tina), Dawn Marsero (Rocky), Andrew Kumiega, Zachary Davis, Kimberly Kumiega, Caitlin Davis, and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

George is also survived by his siblings, Carl Closs (Norma) of Kennett Square, Pa.; Gregory Closs (Barbara) of Pipersville, Pa.; Robert Closs (Roberta), of Lynchburg, Va., and David Closs (Cheryl), of Jersey Shore, Pa.; and several sisters and brothers- in- law.

Visitation: 9:30-10:45 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2430 N. Providence Road, Media, Pa. 19063.

Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Internment: Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, Pa. 19066

To the Closs Family,

Deepest condolences for the passing of George. He has joined may of our family in heaven.
Many warm memories growing up & spending time with our cousins & then their children.

Dad we know you are not in pain anymore and you are with mom.I came into this family almost 40 years ago you treated me like your daughter and a friend and a family member. Through the years we had are ups and downs but you always said it would be alright. I am going to miss you so much but i know you are in a better place. Our hearts are heavy but i know it will take a long time to heal. I love you and will miss you and i know all your family will to. Rest in peace Dad
