Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Husband and Father

Thomas David Coan, age 61, of Glen Mills, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed away at home on Saturday, September 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on September 8, 1958, in Darby, PA. He was the son of late Charles and Winnie (nee Thrash) Coan. He graduated with his associate's degree in carpentry from Williamson Trade School and his bachelor's degree in organizational management from Eastern University along with continuing education from Villanova University. Tom married the love of his life, Maria on May 31, 1986, in Havertown, PA and share three beautiful children together, Thomas Charles, Dr. Nicholas John, and Leah Marie. Tom was recently promoted to G-Pop as he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild who is due to arrive in December.

Over the years, Tom always kept himself quite busy. Whether he was working on a project around the house or trying to find the time to work on his 1968 Ford Mustang, Tom always had his hands in something. When it was time to relax, you could find Tom floating in his pool, watching his car shows on the couch with his dogs, or sitting on the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Maria (nee Novelli); his loving children, Thomas (Holly), Nicholas and Leah (Matthew); his dogs Cody and Ralphie, and his many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing at St. Dorothy's Roman Catholic Church (4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026) on Thursday, September 19th at 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass to follow at 11:00am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers,

In lieu of flowers contributions in his name can be made to Williamson Trade School, 106 S. Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063; OR

Dear Maria and the extended Coan family,

We want to express our deepest sympathy for your loss of a truly wonderful man, who excelled in every one of his roles in life. Tom was massively unselfish and tremendously gifted, and we enjoyed every minute we spent with him. We knew him to be one of the most resourceful and talented chaps we have ever known, and we were blessed to call him our dear and special friend.

During this time of sadness, please remember that those whom we have intensely loved throughout their time with us, will live on in our hearts forever.
