Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother


Ralph Shicatano aged 88 years of Upper Chichester and formerly of South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at his home, on September 24, 2019.
Married 62 years to Mary D. ( nee DeCesaris ) Shicatano. Devoted and loving father of Michele ( Eric ) Roberts, Ralph ( Regina ) Shicatano and Gina ( Vincent ) DiPaolo ; cherished grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Lauren (Robert), Nicole, Angela, Julia, Vincent, Nina, Anthony and Mario; dear brother of Marie ( Frank ) Glaviano and the late Francis Thomas Shicatano.
Ralph was a painter at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and was also a dedicated employee of The Philadelphia Bulletin and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He was extremely talented with all things mechanical and was known for his meticulous work. Ralph was a talented musician, appreciated big band music and loved watching Lawrence Welk. He was a great lover of animals and in his retirement he took up woodworking as a hobby. But nothing was more important to him than his family and he made that evident every day of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ralph's viewing on Sunday, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm., and on Monday, from 8:30 – 9:30 am., at the D'ANJOLELL – STIGALE Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road in Aston, PA 19014. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am., in Saint Joseph R.C. Church. Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery – Marple Township.
