Grateful to have joined you virtually celebrating Al.
Rick, Chris, Linda, Jay and families, what a perfect celebration of a truly exemplary man. I joined Al in his food business at age 25, working for (with) him for 14 yrs till that business was sold. He truly "walked by faith". When business travel was over a weekend, we always attended Sunday mass, even in Cologne, Germany. I feel fortunate to have known and learned from Al. All who met him loved him; so, he'll be missed by many. I'm sure you'll continue sharing his wisdom, jokes and great memories. Peace be with all of you.

I worked with Al and his (at that time) future wife at Baldwin. We maintained that friendship until the present. When we all started work at Baldwin, Al was the one with a car, so he picked me up as well as Bob Moser, and Tom Finneran on his way to work daily. My wife and I along with the Allemans, Finnerans and Mosers managed to meet socially all through the years with Al and Mary. I am watching this funeral now, and wishing I had known in which church the funeral was held, so I could have celebrated Mass with you. I live close by, in the same house I lived in when Al and I left Baldwin in the 1950s. I can still picture Mary sitting at her desk on the fifth floor.

I worked for Al from 1981 until his retirement and thereafter often spoke with him on the phone soliciting his wise business opinion. He was a man ahead of the times giving women growth opportunities in his business . I had many opportunities to be in business meetings with him and learned something each time. While I am thankful for the business knowledge he gave me I am most thankful that he was my friend. I will miss him greatly.
