Jim was one of a kind. He was the heart and sole of our corporate sports battle team at ACC. His energy was infectious. I can still hear him running beside people and encouraging them with "you can do this" when they needed to hear it. My heart goes out to his family.

Mrs. Panetta, Rob & Jen. Your husband and dad was a great man! I am grateful to have been able to call Mr. P my neighbor and friend. I am a better person by having him in my life and will cherish the fond memories of each encounter we had. Your family is in our prayers during these difficult times. God Bless.

My sincere condolences to the Panetta family. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. I am sorry I could not make it there today as planned. Coach Panetta was a great man, coach and mentor for so many young men for over 40 years including myself. He made me a better player and more importantly a better person stressing the importance of hard work but also having a good time, which I believe it was invaluable in my life with the highs and lows. In the last few years, we were lucky enough to reconnect with the coaches at our SJP 77' Team reunions every December. It was a very special time for the team as we got the chance to let them know we really loved and appreciated them. Jim was still a great storyteller as during those events making us laugh so hard. I will never forget THE MAN! RIP Jim, I will forever miss you - CHICO!

It is awe-inspiring to learn even more reasons to admire and respect the beautiful life Jim Panetta curated. What a wonderful man. Our hearts are heavy with sadness for the grieving Panetta family and everyone affected by his loss. For me, growing up, Jim and the Panettas made Greenbriar Lane and Westgate Hills feel like the center of the universe. I'll always remember his kindness, vigor and selflessness. May his legacy live on in your hearts and actions. Elaine, Jen, Robbie, Dana and families- our deepest condolences. With love, Andrea Corbi Fein and Dan Fein

I feel so lucky to have called Jimmy my Godfather and feel so grateful and thankful to see my late father, Gamp Pellegrini, mentioned in so many posts.
To Mrs. Panetta, Rob and Jenn - We are so sorry for your loss and for your difficult years. The memories my mom, Mary, and I know my brothers Kevin and Paul have are immeasurable. We find solace that he is at peace and feel so grateful to have been in his presence and to have shared so many memories with your incredible family. I will miss his raspy Italian voice that reminded me of my fathers.
God bless you all,
Tara

The Panetta Family- Jim was A Prep Classmate in Philadelphia. Jim was a talented guy with wit, athletic ability and a penchant for music. Preppers enjoyed vibrant conversation with Him at The Jersey Shore. He liked talking sports, business and how he was so blessed to have His Wonderful Family. The 1959 Prep Class will dearly miss " Jimmy The Jet" with his quick wit and dynamic personality. "May Vincent Jimmy Panetta Rest In Eternal Peace".

Jimmy you will be missed! This was a great man who I was fortunate to get to know and enjoy his company. I am a Malvern graduate from the class of 1981 and played under the guidance of this tremendous coach. I first met Jim my freshman year and got to know him well over my 4 years at Malvern. In the off season of freshman year I took the P&W to city line avenue from Havertown to Jim's Nautilus facility. This is when I got exposed first hand to his knowledge of strengthening and his love for football. Our senior season I became Captain of the Football Team - I am sure with his help -and we went 10-0 that year with the help of Coach Gamp, Coach Sulls, Coach DiLulia, Coach Louie the Lump and Coach Panetta. This man could anticipate every play that the opponent was going to run. So lucky to have him touch my life! Edward "Deevo" Devine '81;P22 God rest his soul!

Coach Panetta was an unforgettable guy. He taught his players much about the game, but his example of how to live life with so much energy and positivity will stick with us forever. On behalf of the many Malvern Prep Football players who were lucky enough to have known Coach, we send our deepest condolences to the Panetta family. We will miss seeing his smile and hearing his stories each Fall, but we take comfort in knowing he will be reunited with his son and Coach Gamp. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

My thoughts and prayers to the Panetta family. Coach Panetta was a great coach at the Prep who truly cared about each and everyone of his players. I will forever remember Coach Panetta and the memories of our 1977 City Championship team at the Prep. Coach left a lasting impression on myself and many others. He will be greatly missed at the Prep reunions for his fun spirited stories and caring personality. Rest in Peace Coach!

My condolences to the Panetta family. "Coach" was a irreversible light who always had a quick quip about what was going on at the moment with a nod and wink. Coach, along with Gamp Pellegrini at the "Prep" helped mold athletes and football players into young men during their tenure and the championship run in the mid 70's. anima eius pace
