Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother

Mrs. Teresa M. Follo (née Violano) of Overbrook, Philadelphia, PA, passed away on October 29, 2021.

Born in Castelvetere sul Calore, Avellino, Campania, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni Violano and Carmela D'Agostino.

After spending her childhood and teenage years in Castelvetere sul Calore, she married Sabatiello in 1951 and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 19.
She lived the remainder of her life in West Philadelphia.

Teresa was a seamstress by trade, learning to sew at the age of four. She touched the lives of countless friends and acquaintances—altering dresses, wedding gowns, and sewing prom and formal dresses for her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. After her family and friends, her greatest love was St. Donato's Parish. She sent all of her children to St. Donato's school, and her interaction and relationships with fellow parishioners was of utmost importance.
She volunteered in many ways, most notably at the annual St. Donato Italian Festival. She worked the same booth every year with her dear friends,
selling corn on the cob, fruit cup, and beverages. Her homemade polenta and cream puffs were a highlight for many festival-goers.

At home, Teresa took pride in cooking for family and friends. Her greatest happiness was spending time and building traditions with her family and loved ones.
This could be for a regular Thursday night pasta dinner for family; or festive meals on Palm Sunday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (seventeen fishes?),
and Christmas.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sabatiello Follo, to whom she was married for nearly 56 years.

Teresa was predeceased by her dear brothers Leopoldo and Generoso Violano, as well as five siblings that passed in childhood.

Teresa is survived by her loving children Sabino "Sam" Follo (Susan), Vincenza "Nancy" Patrizio (Carl), Gabriella "Gebby" Follo-McCullough (Art), and
Giovanni "John" Follo (Jennifer); her 5 adoring grandchildren Carl Patrizio (Angela), Stefania Patrizio (Jonathan Van Schoick), Teresa Patrizio, Sabrina Follo,
and Sabatino Follo; and 3 great-grandchildren (Violana, Nina, and Luna).

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:30AM-11:15AM, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 AM (ALL IN CHURCH) at St. Denis Church, Eagle Road and St. Denis Lane Havertown, PA 19083. Interment St. Denis Cemetery.

Teresa's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and health aides who tirelessly and lovingly cared for Teresa in the last weeks of her life; as well as the priests and chaplains who offered faith and support.

Contributions in Teresa's memory may be made to the EWTN Catholic Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, Alabama 35210.

For health and safety and for all the immuno-compromised that will be in attendance, masks will be mandatory. If you are not feeling well, please refrain from coming.

For anyone who can't make it, live stream of the Mass will begin promptly at 11:30AM at www.stdenishavertown.org
