Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Age 29

Beloved Son, Grandson, Brother and Uncle

Obituary

December 8, 1989 ~ September 15, 2019

Adam John Ponzek - generous spirit, maker of music, writer of words, harbinger of fun, tinkerer extraordinaire, dog dad, pun aficionado, spiffy dresser, man of his word, and pretty much the greatest guy ever - was released from this life on September 15th, 2019.

Adam was born on December 8, 1989. He grew up in Glenmoore, Chester County, with three older sisters and the patience of a saint. He sat through makeovers and played with Barbies just to make his sisters smile. Needless to say, he was thrilled when his sisters married and he truly became brothers with all three of his "BILs".

He attended Owen J. Roberts High School where he collected forever friends, Alex, Colin, Kevin, and Mike and cultivated his love of music. He graduated from Lehigh University where he met his platonic life partner, Steve, and other lifelong friends. Adam went on to work for Revzilla, where he rose to fame with his mullet, which he styled, permed, and rocked with pride for a year on a bet.

The youngest and only boy, Adam got the best of the gene pool. He was the self-proclaimed "best pancake" and the only one perfectly cooked. His heart was too big and too open for his own good. He'd drop anything to offer guidance, advice, and puns to anyone, anytime. His dad jokes and infectious smile naturally lifted the spirits of everyone in the room. To know Adam was to love him. It was impossible to feel anything but joy in his presence.

His nieces and nephew found him to be one of the kids, and he was lovingly nicknamed "Uncle Zombie." Most people lose the childlike spirit, but not Adam. He could be found at 2am playing "army guys," "night crawlers," or "the floor is lava" with his adult friends and family.

Adam loved working on cars, motorcycles - anything with an engine. He joked that he liked to take things apart, put them back together, then realize that he had to take it apart again. His advice: "You gotta kick it and have a beer, and then it'll work."

While Adam's family spread and grew to include many not related by blood, he is survived and eternally missed by his mother-Patricia Ponzek and stepdad- Charlie Bonnett; sisters- Monica Minski, Melanie Moticha, and Julia Ponzek; brothers- Anthony Minski, Jim Moticha, and Tom
Wolter; nieces and nephew- Macy, Emmett, Maggie, Rosie, and Lucy; grandmother- Dora Mueller; and rambunctious dog daughter- Jellybean, as well as, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greeted wherever he goes with open arms by family gone before him including his father- Paul Ponzek; grandfathers- Lawrence Ponzek and William Mueller; and his grandmother- Blanche Ponzek.

Here's to you Adam. Chairs!
