Robert (Bob) Joseph DiSpaldo, born February 24th, 1948, passed away on February 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Robert (Bob) was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. Son of the predeceased Madeline and Angelo DiSpaldo, and brother to Gene (Fay) DiSpaldo. Married fifty years to his childhood sweetheart Helen Schied DiSpaldo. Father of Robert Jason DiSpaldo, and Nadine DiSpaldo Cooper (Christian). Grandfather of Maxwell DiSpaldo, Mary Rose DiSpaldo, Madalyn DiSpaldo, and Madeline Cooper. Many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Robert DiSpaldo attended Bartram High School and graduated from the Spring Garden Institute. Robert enjoyed photography and writing, which includes his currently published book Italian Immigrants in Philadelphia 1926; as it was his lifelong dream to follow in his father's footsteps as an author in his retirement years.

Robert was in the building industry for 45 years. His career began with Moulton Davis Lumber Company of West Chester in the early 1970's, followed by his short stints at Mr. Goodbuys and KD Door and Frame Co. Robert spent the last 30 years at Grubb Lumber Company of Wilmington Delaware. During Robert's time in the business, he has been associated with some of the giants in Philadelphia's building industry; The Hankin Group, Daniel J. Keating Company, and Dale Corporation.

Robert was a giving, fun loving father who always gave all of himself. He loved music, and summertime with family at "Poppy's Pool". He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His laughter and fun loving free spirit will be forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Saturday, February 23rd, from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM, at the D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall PA 19008. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
